Codie Prevost is a genuine person with a down to earth perspective who is one of Canada’s “To Watch For” singer/songwriters of the year. For Codie country music is all about letting the music take you on a journey. With a quiet confidence and keen ear for memorable melodies Codie’s songs touch on a variety of subjects. From love lost to going out on weekends and having some fun with friends.
Commitment to music is a reflection of Codie’s personality. He is very dedicated, sincere and honest. Those qualities shine thought not only in his original songs but also in his live performances. Grounded and easy going are also words you often hear about Codie. With a passion for music and a dedication to his art that is seldom seen in such a young man, Codie is an artist who will undoubtedly develop a long lasting career in the music industry.

Raised on a grain farm Codie learned at an early age that hard work and compassion will lead you to your destiny. Coming from a close knit family who has always made music a priority Codie knew from an early age that music was going to play a big part in his life. From campfire sing songs, lead by his Uncle and Mother to sitting around the kitchen table and sharing a song, music has become a tradition for the Prevost Family.
Codie has always had a calling to the stage. At 14 after only 6 months of playing electric guitar Codie invited his friends over for a concert. He built his own stage under the trees in the yard with lumber he found on the farm. This was Codie’s first taste of show business, he had a captive audience. Like every young teenager in junior high school he started a band that performed punk rock music like Blink 182. All that changed when Codie purchased his first acoustic guitar which he bought with his very own money he earned working for his neighbor. Encouraged by his late Great Uncle’s love of the acoustic guitar Codie was inspired to start playing country music and has never looked back.

Codie’s debut album “The Road Ahead” voted SCMA Album of the Year, features the singles “Not Just the Beer Talkin”, “The Road Ahead”, as well as his brand new single “He’s Not Me”. “The Road Ahead” was recorded in Nashville with producer Steve Fox and features 11 of Codie’s original songs. The album continues to gain exposure nationally and internationally receiving radio airplay on over 125 stations in Europe, Australia and North America.

Codie has performed at a wide variety of events from small establishments to larger venues headlining or opening for such artists as Charlie Major, Ronnie Prophet and The Good Brothers. He is currently touring small town schools, to inspire and encourage young people to pursue their goals and dreams. He performs at as many charity functions as possible as he feels that as an artist you must give back to those who allow you to share your music with them. Codie is continuing to develop his skills as an entertainer and is bringing more & more of his personality to the stage with every show. He takes time to get to know his fans as he tries to personally thank each and every one of them for coming to his performances.

The past year has been full of achievements for Codie not only did he release his first album and receive the SCMA “Rising Star” award he has made friends and fans all across Canada.
